In July 1996, General Motors Automobiles Philippines (GMPh) was established as a 100% subsidiary of GM Corporation to become the sole distributor of vehicles in the country.  Currently, a number of vehicles are available from the Chevrolet product range and has since introduced world-class vehicle choices for the local market, offering excellent product function, safety and security features, performance and value for money.

To date, General Motors Philippines has 14 dealerships nationwide under the Chevrolet banners:  Chevrolet Shaw, Chevrolet Pasig, Chevrolet Quezon Avenue, Chevrolet Manila, Chevrolet North EDSA, Chevrolet Makati, Chevrolet Alabang, Chevrolet Pampanga, Chevrolet Dagupan, Chevrolet Davao, Chevrolet Cebu, Chevrolet Bacolod, Chevrolet Iloilo and Chevrolet Laguna.

• In July 1996 General Motors esatblished General Motors Automobiles Philippines. It sole the distributor of GM vehicles.
• September 1997 marked the return of General Motors to the Philippine market with the launched of the Opel Omega and Vectra.
• September 1998 launched the Opel Tigra
• May 1999 launched the Opel Astra
• Launched the Chevrolet brand in August 1999 with the Chevrolet Suburban & Savana
• Introduced the one-stop shopping concept with GM AutoWorld in July 2000 with the addition of the Suzuki brand.
• Launched the Chevrolet Zafira & Cassia in September 2000
• Launched the 4th brand of GM AutoWorld with the Subaru Forester
• November 2001 launched the Chevrolet Venture
• February 2002 announced the arrival of the Subaru Impreza WRX
